Mission & Vision

There are over 5,000 Indian expats in the Netherlands and this number is growing very quickly. These expats are occupying important positions in the Dutch society and are playing a significant role in the Dutch economy.

The Indian Expat Society’s mission is to represent the interests of Indian expats in the Netherlands. In order to do this, we want to bring these Indian professionals, businesspersons and students under a single umbrella and represent their interests and concerns, as well as help enhance their professional and personal growth. We aim to highlight the significance of the Indian expat community here in the Netherlands, to raise awareness amongst Dutch society, and to strengthen and deepen the engagement of the Indian expat community with its host country.

The Indian Expat Society has established an online community portal for its members, where mutual interaction can take place on a sustained and regular basis. This will give members the opportunity to meet like-minded people who work in their respective companies and/or fields to leverage each other's strengths and knowledge.

But of course, we don’t stop there. The Indian Expat Society organizes a host of social and business events to bring Indian expats closer together and to bridge the gap between Dutch society and the Indian expat community. In addition, we offer services such as legal advice, and we help facilitate on housing and insurance issues, among other things. As the Indian Expat Society actively interacts with Dutch (local) authorities, we can also help facilitate on a range of key issues, as well as offer any number of benefits for our members.

Activities

Let us outline for you the main activities that the Indian Expat Society undertakes to help make your expatriate experience in the Netherlands easy, pleasant and unforgettable:

  1. The Indian Expat Society has established its own website portal – a one-stop-shop where IES members can interact with each other in an online social community, register for events, have access to a variety of resources such as news, exchange rates, A-Z listings, forums, blogs, classifieds, housing and job search facilities, and much more. You will quickly meet people who share your interests and in no time you’ll have a whole new circle of friends!
  2. We organize regular social networking events, at key locations in cities such as The Hague and Amsterdam where members of IES, Dutch companies, and the government can interact with each other. But we don’t stop there. Fun and relaxation is equally important, which is why we also organize purely social events, such as the IES monthly movie night, as well as sporting events such as cricket and hockey matches.
  3. But we do much more than that: we offer support and knowledge to our members on a variety of topics and areas, such as useful information on living in the Netherlands, cultural challenges, legal advice, professional and personal development, career opportunities, and specific Indian culturally orientated needs. IES aims to be that extra helping hand that makes things go just a little more smoothly.
  4. And of course, there are other advantages to being a member of the Indian Expat Society. We obtain discounts for members as a collective on a variety of goods and services, such as insurance, air travel and vacation packages, museums and excursions, restaurants, cinemas and concerts, department stores and much more.

Join us and experience everything we can do for you!
